“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

I hope everyone is enjoying their MLK holiday! This week I have decided to trade the self-help chat for some winter fashion tips. Winter coats have always been a consistent seasonal staple in my wardrobe, whether it be Peacoats, Down coats, or Trench coats. Every winter I begin with an evaluation process, The yearly winter fittings. The fitting consists of me taking out all winter coats and trying them on, removing any coat that may be torn, ill-fitting, or simply outdated. The coats that are not damaged are donated. I usually keep around 4 coats out for the season. Your outerwear during winter is almost as - if not more important than your actual outfit and must be clean and lint-free. I often purchase new winter coats because my weight is usually different each year, some years I have to size down, and sometimes up. (seems to be more up than down nowadays)

Below are my favorite Winter coats from ASOS - fun fact: each coat is currently on sale so happy shopping!

A pop of color is always striking in the endless sea of black winter coats. A red coat says you are ready to bring your A-game, pure fire, and pure confidence.

A teddy coat shows your fun and fashionable style, it is the perfect mash-up of fun, comfort, and trendy.

The down coat also called a puffer or bubble coat is the gold standard when you require ultimate warmth during winter. The down coat is one of the most utilized coats because it requires less layering underneath, It’s perfect for running those errands during winter.

The classic peacoat has been the go-to coat for most winter/business looks. This coat is the most versatile of all the coats since it has the ability to be dressed up, or down, and still remain a very relevant piece of your outfit.

The trench coat is a lighter more flirtier cousin of the Peacoat. I think this is less of a staple but it most definitely shows that your wardrobe has range.

The classic camel - Unlike the regular Peacoat, the camel color gives a more sophisticated and soft look to the coat which elevates the look of any casual outfit. This is a must-have for everyone’s wardrobe.

What is your favorite go-to winter coat? Let me know in the comments.
